Meet Our Instructors

Owner and Head Coach

Brooklin Nothdurft

Owner & Head coach

Brooklin brings over 22 years of dance experience to the studio, with extensive training in lyrical, contemporary, pom, jazz, and hip hop. She began her journey at a dance academy in Sioux Falls, where she earned multiple World Championship titles, including three gold medals in pom and two in jazz at the USASF Dance Worlds. In 2020, Brooklin graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Dance. During her five years on the nationally acclaimed MSU Mankato Dance Team, she captured seven UDA National Championship titles, refining her craft at one of the most competitive levels of collegiate dance.

Returning in January 2025 as a full-time coach, Brooklin works with senior, junior, and youth teams while teaching technique, combo, and private lessons. Her coaching philosophy blends rigorous technical training with a deep appreciation for artistry, aiming to develop disciplined, well-rounded dancers who thrive as both athletes and performers. Brooklin is passionate about fostering a supportive, confidence-building environment where every student feels seen, valued, and prepared for success inside and outside the studio. Her choreography has been featured by numerous universities, high schools, and premier dance programs across the Midwest.

Kya Brings Plenty

Head Coach & Instructor

Kya Brings Plenty brings over 20 years of dance experience to the studio, transitioning from a dedicated performer in 2002 to a passionate mentor. For the past five years, she has focused on coaching dancers of all ages, drawing on her extensive background working with youth to build strong, positive relationships. Kya creates a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to grow both technically and personally. She believes that genuine support naturally fosters confidence and a lifelong love for dance, and finds her greatest reward in watching her students blossom into expressive, self-assured performers.

Madison Jankowski

Coach & Instructor

Madison’s dance journey began in Sioux Falls, where she competed with Roosevelt High School before earning a collegiate national championship with the MSU Mankato Dance Team. Over the years, she has coached and choreographed for high schools and studios across the Midwest, guiding teams to State, National, and World titles. Today, she balances her roles as a certified surgical technologist, dance judge, and freelance choreographer with a deep commitment to her athletes. At SBDC, Madison thrives on pushing dancers to excel while fostering confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love for dance.

Amy Hofer

Head Ballet & Pointe Instructor

Amy Hofer has been shaping dancers for over 40 years, building her foundation in classical ballet through training at the Boston Ballet School and a Fine Arts degree from the University of South Dakota. A fully certified Cecchetti and Pilates instructor, she has guest-taught across the Midwest and provided foundational training for USASF Dance Worlds championship teams and local high school programs. Amy pioneered worship dance ministry in Sioux Falls and served on the South Dakota Dance Network board. With a special focus on pointe work, she emphasizes strength, alignment, and safe technique to help dancers build lasting confidence. Outside the studio, she enjoys gardening, traveling, and exploring South Dakota’s state parks.

Joslyn

Head Coach & Instructor

Joslyn has been dancing since age four, spending 12 years training and competing at a dance academy in Sioux Falls, where she earned spots on two World Championship teams. Now in her fifth year as a coach, she draws on her competitive experience to deeply connect with her athletes and understand every stage of their journey. Joslyn is dedicated to fostering a positive, supportive environment where dancers are challenged to grow technically while building lasting confidence and self-belief. She’s committed to making a meaningful impact on every student, both on and off the stage.

Maggie McGuire

Head Coach & Instructor

Maggie began dancing at age five and trained through eighteen, building a strong foundation across multiple styles. For the past five years, she has shared her passion as an instructor and choreographer, specializing in jazz, contemporary, and lyrical. Her dance education includes intensive training at CLI Conservatory and the Revolution Studio Directors Convention. Outside the studio, Maggie holds a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and is pursuing a Master’s in Forensic Psychology, an academic background that deeply informs her teaching philosophy. She creates a hardworking yet nurturing environment where empathy, confidence, and emotional storytelling take center stage, helping every dancer grow both technically and personally.
